  • You must be at least 18 years old
  •  Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  •  Successfully complete Real Estate Fundamentals course (30 hours) and Real Estate Practice course (45 hours) and pass both course exams.
  • Complete the online application with Pearson Vue.
  • Successfully pass both the Pennsylvania State and National Real Estate Salesperson portion of the licensing exam.  After passing the licensing exam, you can wait up to 3 years before activating your license.
  • After passing the exam, contact the real estate brokerage which you desire to work with.  
  • Create an account on the Pennsylvania Licensing System (PALS) website.  Be prepared to upload your course/exam transcripts and current criminal background check.

Real Estate Fundamentals – 30-hour Course

This course introduces students to real estate language, principles, and legal concepts and laws that govern real estate ownership and how it is transferred.  Topics covered in this course:  Pennsylvania Real Estate Licensing Law, Public and Private Land Use Controls, Real Estate Environmental Issues, Real Estate Interests, Forms of Real Estate Ownership, Real Estate Taxes and Liens, Transfer of Title and Title Records, and Principles of Real Estate Financing


Real Estate Practice – 45-hour Course

This course takes the concepts learned in Real Estate Fundamentals and applies them to procedures and ethics involved in a real estate transaction.  During this course, students will be introduced to the most up-to-date contracts utilized in a residential real estate transaction so they are more prepared to practice real estate once obtaining their license.  Topics covered in this course:  Ethical Practices, Federal and State Fair Housing Laws, Real Estate Contracts, Financing of Real Estate Transactions, Closing of Real Estate Transactions, Buyer and Seller Representation, Valuation of Real Estate, Leasing and Property Management, and Real Estate Business Structures and Professional Organizations.


Transcripts are typically provided within 5-10 business days following the completion of both pre-licensing courses.  In order to receive your transcript, all attendance requirements must be met and both course exams passed. 


The exams are proctored by Pearson Vue.  Please visit their website for additional information about the exam as well as the locations of their testing facilities.  


You can repeat any "paid in full" course within a 6-month period.  Please contact the school at 267-436-7227 to make arrangements. 


If course cancellation occurs prior to the first class, a full refund will be issued.  However, if cancellation occurs after the first class and prior to the start of the second class, a full refund will be issued minus a $50.00 service charge.
